Where are your products made?

Our rugs are handcrafted by our talented team of artisans in India. Each piece is made-to-order to avoid waste and overproduction, better for the planet and made just for you.
Every rug is hand tufted from natural, eco-friendly materials and designed to be durable, easy-care, and beautiful for real family life.

What materials do you use?

We use natural fibres, mainly cotton, for softness, durability, and eco-friendliness. Full material details are listed on each product page.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, digital gift cards are available on our website, perfect if you want to give someone the freedom to choose their own favourite piece.

Do you offer trade discounts for designers?

Yes, we offer a 15% trade discount for interior designers and architects. To apply, please email us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au.

Can I order a sample before buying a rug?

Yes! Contact us on hello@hunterandnomad.com.au if you like to receive a sample. They’re perfect for checking colour, texture, and pattern at home before committing to purchasing a rug.

What makes Hunter & Nomad rugs different?

We make our rugs to order to avoid waste and overproduction, it’s better for the planet and means each piece is made just for you. Your rug ships directly from our makers in India to your door, keeping our carbon footprint small. Every rug is handcrafted from natural, eco-friendly materials and designed to be easy-care, durable, and beautiful for real family life.

Are your rugs washable?

Yes, our standard size rugs (140x200cm, 160x230cm, and 150cm round) can be washed in a conventional machine.

Larger made-to-order rugs are very heavy when wet, so we recommend either professional cleaning or taking the rug to your local laundromat. Each rug comes with a reusable carry bag, which makes transporting it much easier.

How do I clean my rugs?

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of laundry detergent (standard sizes only)

Use a dryer at your local laundromat for best drying results

Vacuum once dry to bring softness back

Spot clean spills immediately with a damp cloth (no harsh chemicals)

Do your rugs shed fluff?

Yes, shedding is normal at first because our rugs are made from pure cotton. This will settle over time. To help:

Always use a rug underlay, this reduces shedding and absorbs shock

Vacuum lightly once a week (avoid strong brush settings)

A cold wash cycle and dry can also help speed up the process.

What if my rug arrives creased?

Rugs can develop folds during shipping. These will relax naturally after a short time. Using a rug underlay, placing furniture on the corners, or rolling the rug the opposite way can help speed this up.

Do rugs come with an underlay?

No, the underlay is an optional add-on, but we highly recommend it. You can choose one for carpet or hard floors, and you’ll receive 50% off when buying it together with a rug.

What’s included with my rug?

Every rug comes with a reusable branded carry bag for easy storage or transport. Care products, such as underlays and lint rollers, are available separately in our Care section.

Made to Order

How long does made-to-order take?

Your rug is usually handcrafted within 30 days and shipped directly from our warehouse in India. Shipping takes about 7 to 10 business days depending on your location. Please note: made-to-order rugs cannot be returned, but we do offer exchanges or store credit.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Yes, larger custom sizes are available as made-to-order. Contact us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au to make an inquiry.

Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and order weight. International shipping can be expensive, so if you’d like a customised quote, email us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au.

Customs and Import Taxes. Any customs duties or import taxes for orders outside Australia are the customer’s responsibility. We’re legally required to declare the full value of your order and include an invoice for customs if needed. For more details, please check with your local customs office before placing your order.

Do you offer express shipping?

Yes, we can arrange express shipping on request. Contact us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au so we can organise it quickly for you.

How long will my order take?

Standard delivery times:

  • Australia: 3–7 business days
  • International: 7–14 business days

Tracking details are provided once your order is shipped.

Returns

What is your return policy?

While we’re sure you’ll love your rug, please note all made-to-order pieces are non-refundable. We’re happy to offer an exchange or store credit (return shipping to our Brisbane warehouse is at your cost).
If your item arrives faulty, we’ll replace it free of charge. To arrange a return, email hello@hunterandnomad.com.au with your order number.

Do you offer exchanges?

We don’t offer direct exchanges. If you’d like a different size or style, please return your item for a refund and place a new order.

What if my rug arrives damaged or faulty?

We take great care to ensure every rug is thoroughly checked before leaving our warehouse. In the rare case your rug arrives damaged or faulty, please email us at hello@hunterandnomad.com.au within 7 days of receiving your order. Include photos of the issue and your order number so we can resolve it quickly. If the item is confirmed faulty, we will cover the return shipping and organise a replacement or refund.
